Visited Nfld. Aug.2016. Reason to find my family roots in I.A.M. Found family members and now learning more about my families heritage. My father, Woodrow Wilson Green, who joined the Armed Forces in Montreal, was from I.A.M. and always talked and visited Nfld. This was my first visit and I regret not making it earlier. What a beautiful place. Learned family was descendants of George and Jane Harvey and my Grt.Grt Grandfather was a Mi'kmaq. How awesome is that. Plan to visit soon and learn more.

My great Grandmother was Margaret Harvey who married John Billard. I only found out about all the Harveys from being interested in genealogy and doing ancestry. Although I visited Burgeo, Ramea, Stephenville and Cornerbrook, I have not been to Isle aux Morts except to pass it on a coast boat years ago. Now I will surely have to visit the place. I love the website! ;)

If not for the bravery of Ann Harvey and her dog I would not be writing this. My gr gr gr grandfather, William Ayers, was one of the survivors. I hope to make it to one of the Ann Harvey Days celebration. Karen Ayers Connel
